The talent of this outstanding pianist subtly balances the power of classical music with the authenticity of Cuban Music. On the occasion of a unique concert in one of the most beautiful theatres of Paris, accompanied by 4 musicians, he revisits Mahler, Shostakovitch, Bach, Chopin… all staged by different paintings of the dancers Gissel Ortiz and Fares Shanguito for the joy of the 1400 spectators present.
International Competition of the GUAGUANCO Festival of Barcelona
In the 10th edition of the Barcelona International Afro-Cuban Dance Festival, Guaguanco Festival, Farès Shanguito reaches second place in the Columbia Competition.
According to Julio Manguero, member of the jury, this edition was surely the most demanding competition in the history of the Festival.
The Guaguanco Festival is the first Afro-Cuban festival to be held in Europe.
Timba con Funk with SETENTA
SETENTA is a Parisian band playing modern, fresh, Caribbean-inspired music, jazz, funk…
It is on one of the group’s tracks, Funky Tumbao, that Shanguito performs an improvisation on one of the bridges of Sète.
A tripod and a beautiful view, nothing more is necessary for a beautiful video.
The concept of “Timba con Funk” is becoming more and more fashionable and DJ Jack ElCalvo is a big part of it.
